ベリィ (Berry) Ba. ヤイリ (Yairi) has passed away -
Bands with unreleased/'live-only' material@Tokage I'm delighted that you've mentioned kein ahahhh!!
Aside from hakai to souzou, they also released "people" for the first time as a venue-exclusive single back in 2024, and there were two songs performed on the 2023 EBISU LIQUIDROOM blu-ray that were previously unreleased, but still have yet to be released in studio form: "kagoniwa" (籠庭) & "kagi wo kakenai heya" (鍵をかけない部屋). Kagoniwa is a big favorite of mine so I'm really hoping they give it a proper release at some point...
Aside from those though, there are a few more yet-to-be-released songs that I'm hoping make an appearance some day in the future... "CANNIBALISM" (カニバリズム) & "LOVE ME"... there's a bit of information about them on old fansites, & what I find most noteworthy is that CANNIBALISM was apparently composed by maco himself, which I don't think he's done at any other point in his career, as far as I remember... there are old transcribed lyrics for both songs here, it sort of gives you an idea of what kind of songs they were... very interesting.
This other fansite describes both of those songs, as well as two others that, according to the site owner, were performed only once at a show @ Nagoya Music Farm before unfortunately being shelved: "sabbat" & "watashi no naka no aoi kumo" (私の中の青い雲). That's literally all I know about those & I really wonder if they'd even consider bringing them back. Well, I guess it depends on whether they've got any old footage of the performance since apparently maco has lost all the original lyrics he wrote and has had to go thru and transcribe them manually using old recordings they own LMAO
.And... I know buruubejii is technically released as it went on to become a deadman song, but I'd love to hear the original kein version get some sort of release someday too... I think I remember seeing setlists with the song on it as recently as 2024? So I guess they're playing it live. Given how similar the composition and lyrics were to the eventual deadman version though, I can't imagine they'd include it on like, the next album or anything like that... Maybe we can hear it on a blu-ray at least... or another venue-exclusive single : P
I can think of quite a few other bands with unreleased material, though... it might be cheating for me to bring up GULLET's "rakujitsu" since it was later released as a 9GOATS song on the limited edition of Sleeping Beauty, but I just can't imagine how the GULLET version might have sounded... it's one of ryo's favorite poems according to his final entry on the GULLET diary though
I think about that so much...
I did find this fansite that has a list of unreleased GULLET songs though... really neat. I can't remember exactly, but I think there was also an unreleased Galruda song that went on to become a GULLET song...? Maybe someone else knows more about all that... -
Cover art: the good, the bad, and the WTF@omochadorei I LOVE the see-through CDs those come with too omg, they pair with eachother soooo nicely. Hidden Baby too... I love them... I also hadn't heard about that scandal, that's so neat (in a... neutral way? Cool to see the inspo, but...hm...)
Now for album covers I love... I just can't help myself from talking about kein. I love the covers for mourou no mi and hakai to souzou SO much...

Something super cool about these that you don't get from just looking at pics... the actual covers are in black-and-white, and the color comes from the cases. For mourou no mi, the jewel case itself is bright red, & for Hakai to Souzou, the limited edition just comes with a green slip-cover, so not exactly done the same, but still...
I think it's so cool that they share this quirk, with mourou no mi being their last release before they broke up and hakai to souzou being their first album after getting back together. I feel like it really ties them together... plus, it means you get to do fun stuff like this.

yahahahaaa!!
**edit, not to mention... red/green combo, my two fav colors & evidently a lot of nagoya bands' favs as well.... even those GULLET singles have that going for them.... LOOVE it....

Oh look another intro!@koutetsuhime I do have a fansite, here it is. I'm a bit shy about it since it's still in its infancy ahah but it would be an honor!! I'll happily link yours as well!
I have a simple little button I made that you can find the code for here, but I might re-make it soon. I have a lot of updates I've been meaning to do, I just need more timeeee...
My absolute favorite thing has been going through archived fansites on the internet archive, it'd be amazing to see more of them nowadays...! -
Oh look another intro!Omg! It’s you!!! I’m super new to the scene but I’ve dug through visual-ongaku quite a bit, wow!! So awesome to be able to talk to fans who’ve been in it longer than I’ve been alive LMAO and your sites inspired me a lot! I’ll definitely check out your current one too! ^^

Atmospheric albums / songsHere, my 9GOATS one & my HOLLOWGRAM one.
I have a bunch more for other bands I listen to if you’re ever interested in more recs, I love putting these together for people. There’s a big mix of music, comment vids, DVDs, all sorts of stuff… enjoy! Yayyyyy!!
-
Atmospheric albums / songsI’m very happy to hear you like them ahahahh!! Yay! I have YouTube playlists for both 9GOATS and HOLLOWGRAM if you’d like those as well! Experiencing 9GOATS for the first time is so much fun, hope you enjoy them!!

-
Atmospheric albums / songs^ Oh hell yes. Could you tell I like 9GOATS hahahaha… sorry to hijack this but I can’t help but add onto your rec a little.
It’s hard for me not to suggest you listen to their whole discography because it really is just that good, but if you listen to anything, for sure give devils in bedside and Tanatos a full listen. CALLING is a big favorite of mine too, but that’s their final album (unless you count ARCHIVES which I also love very much, the remastered songs on that are soooo good), if that matters to you lol. Don’t forget all of their other singles though… sleeping beauty is a must-hear.
Adding onto this, HOLLOWGRAM carries on a lot of that atmospheric feeling, and since they’re an active band I’d highly suggest them as well if you end up liking 9GOATS and want more. Their latest releases, MAJESTY/SCENIC, are sooo good & feature a lot of remastered songs from their discography, + you can listen on YouTube & other streaming services so that’s a big plus.
They’ve also got lots of fun live digests on their official channel. Here’s a nice atmospheric one to stay on theme lol…

hiiiiiii ^^@Jigsaw yay! Nice to see you tooo!! ^^ I hope we can keep this forum alive for a longggg time, I’ve been craving a place like this to replace all my social media usage.
-
hiiiiiii ^^@WhirlingBlack that’s pretty much what I’ve done ahah, I’ve been discovering a whole lot of amazing stuff this way. I’m slowly reaching further and further out into the big spiderweb of connections they all have. Hearing them all in other bands only makes me love kein more and more too
They’re like my personal supergroup LOL like how is it that all of these amazing and talented people are in a band together?? It’s awesome… -
The REAL ningen pumpAhahahhh thank you so so much, it’s coming along but I have lots of plans for it!! Your site will be a big inspo for me. & it turns out I was already following yours LOL. Go figure!

hiiiiiii ^^Helloooo! Finally taking the time to make an introduction.
Some of you might have seen me around the server a little bit, but if you haven’t, my name is Charlie and I’m a total Vkei noob… I’ve been listening for a little over 3 years now, but I only started diving into the scene and learning more about the bands I like last year, so I’m sort of late to the party in that regard… but I’m VERY eager to learn and listen to even more great music. ^^
Most of what I listen to is commonly described as Nagoya/Misshitsu/Kote-Kei, but I don’t put too much emphasis on labels, and I really enjoy a whole lot of different sounds and styles.
But, my primary interest revolves around the band kein & everything to do with the band’s members, so that little Nagoya circle makes up a ton of what I’ve been listening to. I’ve been branching out from there based on connections to other bands & artists, so I’m making my way around.
I also really love Ryo & all of his bands, particularly D’els, Galruda, GULLET, 9GOATS, HOLLOWGRAM & TAG.
Please, feel free to drop any recs on me if you’d like, I love and appreciate it & am always open to chat!!Aside from that, I’ve been interested in videogames my entire life & am very passionate about game design, the game industry, game collecting, and practically anything else to do with them. I’ve just started college & am aiming to study game design soon (very big umbrella, I know, but i can’t really get that specific in an introduction post and I’ve already rambled a lot xD)
I would drop a big list of everything I’ve been listening to but I don’t want to make this post longer than it already is LMAO, definitely take a peek at my lastFM to see what all I listen to if you’re curious. ^^ I’m hoping to be fairly active here, it’s nice to meet all of you!!

The REAL ningen pump@pairdog I LOVE your site!!! Very well designed, I’ll for sure be digging through it the next few days when I get free time… more vkei fans need to be making fansites again…
It’s nice to meet u!! ^^ -
