Damnnn, what an announcement to publish on their "special day" (March 10)...
Weird to see this band slowly crumbling, first with the death of Reita and now this. Although even a few years back, I think I heard rumors about Aoi "not being that into it", so maybe there was truth in that all along.

It's impossible to see how they'll get through this. The GazettE's riffs were an institution, and that metalcore/nu-metal composite riff they've been playing since 2007 was very influential in popularizing that style, and a lot of that came down to the interplay between Uruha and Aoi. What will come after this will be a different band altogether.

Unexpected news
-
Aoi has denied the statements from the band and tabloid site Shujo Prime, stating that he intended to leave the band last September. He also refers to the news outlets' claim that he demanded money and claims this was unpaid dues that were agreed upon by his agency and are therefore reasonable.
this is insane...

Yahoo JP has added (no I will not link to the Shujo Prime tabloid site since it is plagued with inappropriate ads) that Aoi had started acting out back in March 2025 after drummer Kai was chosen as the new representative director of the band instead of him, and he regularly harassed staff members by using his power over them and threw chairs at them. He is also alleged to have discussed details of Reita's death while drinking and demanded compensation while apparently "on sick leave" due to mental health reasons.
