MASK 20th anniversary event to be held
-
Somewhat old news, that's gotten an update.
The old:
MASK will be holding an event to celebrate 20 years since "graduating" (disbanding). The event will be a large-scale two-day concert series entitled "THANK YOU" and "FOREVER", held at Toyosu PIT on May 1st and 2nd, 2026.
The band even shared new promotional pictures, featuring updated looks for both of the band's lineups (including their original vocalist, Aoi, and original drummer, NANA).
Day 1 will feature performances from An Cafe, Aioria, Alibi, and Scissor. Day 2 will have performances from Penicillin, Dasein, Moi dix Mois, and Scissor.

The updated / new news:
MASK shared through VisuNavi that they will be making their song "Sakura" available on streaming services, starting April 4th. VisuNavi refers to this as their "meikyoku (名曲)" (eng: "famous work"), and it was a song released shortly before disbanding. April 4th marks 20 years since that song was released.
(Side note: this song was already released digitally a few years ago when they added their "best of" albums to various platforms. Maybe they forgot...?)
The article also teased that "additional MASK tracks" will be released digitally on that day as well, but does not mention which.
Lastly, the band has uploaded their music video for "Mirai e no Tsubasa" on their official YouTube channel. Checkout the osare goodness below:

I suppose I should give Mask a try again. I wasn't a fan back in the day but I was a humongous edgelord. My music tastes have changed over the years so i may appreciate them now that I'm not trying to project my angst into everything lmao.
The supporting band line up is solid, I wonder if Missa will be there with Aioria.

Their new release is their last single + a couple songs that didn't make it into the collection albums from after they disbanded.
"CRAZY MOTHER" is apparently a rerecording of "XxxX MASTER" and "Saijun" is a remake of "Gemini" with their second vocalist.
