Heeeey everyone, my name is kou!
I'm a long time fan of VK, going back to around like 99ish? when I first discovered it. I'm not as deep into the vkei fandom as I once was, but I still love the scene and music. I've had many names over the many years (awakenthesadist, medicalshower, a few others..) but if you've been around a bit like back in the livejournal and batsu days, you probably have seen me around!
Some of my VK favs:
- Fatima
- Aikaryu
- Dir en grey
- Dadaroma
- Phantasmagoria (and most old Undercode bands)
- the pumpkin head
- 蜉蝣
- UnsraW
- D'espairsRay
And a crapton of others I could list but it'd be too much, so feel free to dig through my last.fm profile! Recently, I got into the new band DRUGS but I've also been listening to a lot of non-VK (I may have a small Black Veil Brides obsession shhh)
I ran a bunch of vkei fansites back in the day, and I have an archive of them uploaded if you'd like to check them out here: visual-ongaku archive. It hosts the last copy I have of visual-ongaku, and fansites for aikaryu, unsraw, and Versailles. Behold the ancient mid 2000s coding skills! (probably not mobile friendly lol)
I also have a current fansite for Fatima here: candytrippers (someday I'll get back to adding to it ^^;)
And I haven't added to it in a while, but I used to upscale old vkei videos for better youtube watching: my channel
Happy to be here, and happy to have already seen quite a few familiar names around on the forum!

Omg! It’s you!!! I’m super new to the scene but I’ve dug through visual-ongaku quite a bit, wow!! So awesome to be able to talk to fans who’ve been in it longer than I’ve been alive LMAO and your sites inspired me a lot! I’ll definitely check out your current one too! ^^

@gentility Omg someone who remembers me from LJ! Did you have the same username there? I might remember you! (Although I'll warn you my memory is awful xD) Man, I really miss the LJ fandom days sometimes lol
@brainimpediment Omg, it makes me happy to know it's inspired you!! I really miss the days of everyone having fansites for their fave bands, so if I can inspire people to make one, that makes me super happy! If you have or make a fansite, I can link it from mine! ^^

@koutetsuhime I do have a fansite, here it is. I'm a bit shy about it since it's still in its infancy ahah but it would be an honor!! I'll happily link yours as well!
I have a simple little button I made that you can find the code for here, but I might re-make it soon. I have a lot of updates I've been meaning to do, I just need more timeeee...
My absolute favorite thing has been going through archived fansites on the internet archive, it'd be amazing to see more of them nowadays...! -

And I soooo feel you about just needing more time (and energy on my part lol) It's really fun to go through archived fansites or even archived band homepages, just wish more had been archived! More than a few times I ran into stuff that'd be cool to translate, but it was only partly there
@gentility Oooh sadly I don't think I remember the name but I did indeed co-run versaillesfans and the fansite with some friends! I'm really glad it was helpful! I kinda miss running communities some days besides when there was user drama, hahaha
