Hello everyone, Jigsaw here, happy to be here on this wonderful new platform. πŸ™‚

I've been listening to visual kei (and Japanese rock music in general) since 2004. My first exposure was in the form of music videos of such acts as Atsushi Sakurai (solo), MALICE MIZER, Baiser, Kagerou, Dir en grey and the like, so that pretty much solidified what kind of music I'd be into for the remaining decades, hehe. My all-time favorites are BUCK-TICK, cali≠gari, deadman, LUNA SEA, MUNIMUNI and (mostly early) Merry. When I'm not listening to vkei, I'm mostly into extreme metal (black/death/thrash) and various forms of post-punk / goth genres. I'm also a big fan of horror movies and a casual enjoyer of comic books.

I initially found vkei by complete accident, but also found a cool local (Hungarian) online community which I joined a year later. Some great times, many vkei-themed parties in underground clubs in the capital city with lots of colorful cool people. Parallel to this, I gradually got into the international forums too, first Tokyo Nights, then found Tainted World, which soon morphed into Monochrome Heaven, and basically that was my best online hangout. In the meantime I began writing news articles and album reviews for the local Sound of Japan website, which lasted a good few years. Oh, almost forgot I had a fabulous guest appearance in one of the early episodes of the glorious Visual Kei Podcast too, haha~ ✨

I was really bummed when MH folded, and there hasn't really been an alternative that I was completely satisfied with, so hoping this forum will bring back some of that vibe (it already feels comfy). Nice to meet everyone (and to see lots of familiar faces too)~ 😺
